Auto power-off isn't working

My Axim is almost dead at the end of the day because of this. It comes on because of a reminder, but doesn't auto-power off. I do have the "Auto-Power off" check box checked and have changed the setting from 3 minutes to 1 minute to 30 seconds, all with the "Turn Backlight off after [] minutes" both checked and unchecked. Soft reset didn't work either. Anyone have any ideas?

My Ipaq did this all the time... no matter what I tried it never worked.

Something tells me this is not a Dell issue, but an OS issue...
After I hard reset the Ipaq, I no longer use it..., I should give it a tryand see if a hard reset changes anything.
