replacement axim problem

I got a replacement axim (had the dpad problem). The problem is I can't get it to sync with either my work or home computers- it stops part way through and says syncronization error. After being unable to sync, I went back and I am still able to sync with the old axim.

Has anyone else had this problem? What is the solution?

Have you tried a soft reset? If you have it might be necessary to do a hard reset. Sometimes units don't seem to want to work right out of the box. The hard reset should fix this. Also, I am not trying to degrade you, but make sure that you use a different name in your partnership. Hopefully you can get it to work.

Well, I have done a soft reset. I haven't done a hard reset as the axim was completely blank when I first tried to sync. And I tried with both a different name and the same name.

Questions:

How can I erase any memory of the old axim on my computers, and will that help with my sync problem?

What have people done for the first sync when they recieved their new axims?
