I can receive Yahoo Mail but not send it--using same settings as on my desktop Outlook and I have checked Outgoing server needs authentication and I pay Yahoo for their service.

When there is a message in Outbox it stops receiving as well.

Now, when I connect my Casio in the cradle, I can via Active Sync and my DSL connection send the mail!! When I drop the DSL and connect via Verizon dial-up on my desktop--same problem as using Dial-up directly from PPC. What could be the factor that prevents sending using Dial-up?

Yahoo of course doesn't respond and Verizon doesn't understand

Any help??

Thank you

Is your outgoing SMTP server Yahoo's or Verizon's SMTP server?

I've tried it both ways--with and without authentication etc.

Just out of curiosity, can you ping the SMTP servers when using the dial-up? Can you get mail via the dial-up?

Have you tried using a third party POP3 program?

I can send Verizon mail via same dial-up, but not Yahoo mail.

I have not tried 3rd party.

Try hard-coding the IP address of Verizons SMTP server as the "outgoing smtp server". That will at least eliminate a DNS issue.
