Hi,

This question has probably been answered but I couldn't find anything to quickly, (Sorry). Anyways I find myself especially when listening to music accidentally touching my screen when its in my pocket or where ever forcing the unit to go into pause mode. Consequently this stops my music and I need to drag it out again to press play. Is there a way to put a freeze on my screen/program such that nothing when tapped will register or cause the state of my Dell Axim to change? I guess a steel case would work but for now is there a simple software screensaver password or something like that out there?

Thanks.
Tony

If you are using Windows Media Player you can turn the screen off and it will not respond to screen taps until turned back on. Start WMP and go to Tools> Options> Buttons and select from the drop down menu Screen Toggle. Then press the hardware button that you want to program that function to. Whenever you start WMP, press that button and the screen will turn off, saving battery life.

You know, it's been a while since we had a 'Tips & Sneaks' kinda post - I never knew about the WMP screen lock (Heaven knows why not) - the last very cool thing that I picked up was the holding down the jog dial when in contacts and getting the fast scroll initial letters appear.

Anyone got any other things along these lines :?:

How about this:

Using the hardware buttons you can map any WMP action. Very useful if you want to change the volume while your screen is turned off.

The run command can be accessed on a pocket pc by pressing the center action button on the D-Pad while tapping and holding on the clock.

You can display both the time and the date in the upper right hand corner using a reg editor.

The clock can be analog by tapping and holding the clock. A menu will pop up.

Those are some of my Tips and Hints
