Nothing new there then

Every now and then when I take my iPaq out of its (ill fitting) cradle the desktop version of ActiveSync throws up an error message mentioning a CAPI WORKER MODULE.

Subsequent cradles either sync, but don't show a connection/syncing status in the Tray, or refuse to recognise a connection. To solve it I have to reboot, which is annoying since it breaks any WinMX connections and it seems to be happening on every second sync.

Does anybody else have this, and is there any way it can be avoided? I'm running XP with ActiveSync 3.6 connected to an iPaq 3870.

All help very greatfully received...

Heh-heh... ActiveSink. Yeah, that's a better name for it. :)

Never heard of a "CAPI WORKER MODULE" but as Rirath mentioned, ActiveSync problems run a dime-a-dozen... stick around long enough and you'll see a new post every 3 or 4 days on it.

Advice: either keep rebooting, reinstall the latest version of ActiveSync (3.6) and see if that works, or begin syncing using an alternative connection interface (serial, USB, IR, BT, WiFi).

Here is a vote for using WiFi (VERY FAST and VERY STABLE).

Thanks for that. AFAIK I'm running the latest version.

Having just got me a bluetooth GPS I was starting to get itchy for new toys, and wf-fi might just be what I'm looking for...
