Hi,
Here is what I have:

Toshiba notebook with WinXP Home, Linksys Wifi PC card, access to internet thru ICS from a desktop computer with WinXP Pro, which is using diap-up modem. The connection between desktop and notebook is thru a 100mbps hub and cat5 cable.
Axim X5 400 with Linksys Wifi CF card.

I setup a partnership between the Axim and Toshiba notebook. Activesync is thru USB cradle.

I would like to do activesync thru Wifi in ad-hoc mode, as I don't have a wifi access point. And if possible, I would like to share the internet with the desktop computer. Right now, I can access internet if I seat the Axim on the cradle. Remember, Toshiba access the internet as a client also. My desktop is the machine dial-up to the internet.

And how about access file wirelessly from Axim to Toshiba, so I can play mp3 files wirelessly.

Thank you very much.

Try these two step by steps:

Wireless LAN Card settings for AdHoc communication
http://www.practicallynetworked.com/support/adhoc_setup.htm

TCP/IP Settings for the NIC in the Client Computer
http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/lansetup2.htm#Client_ip_info

After you setup the network make sure that in activesync, connection settings, network service connection box is on.
