I am looking for good backgammon games. I downloaded the freeware from Any Ware and wasn't impressed. Does anyone know of a better one?

Have you checked out PocketGammon (http://www.regge-edv.de/e_software.html)? I used it, and actually helped the author improve the program. He was very responsive.
