Anyone have the new Targus Noteworthy thumb keyboard? I can't get mine to disconnect from the port. Contacted both Toshiba PDA support and Targus support. Both told me that they offered no support, had little info. and that I needed to contact the other guy. I believe that would fall into the old runaround catagory.

If anyone has or is experiencing the same challenge or found a solution please contact me. I will post a solution also provided I find one.

Mike,

I've got the same keyboard, but don't have any problems getting it to detach. Press in the two side buttons and it releases with no problems.

If that doesn't work for you, then I suspect that the two pins that hold it in place are bent. You can unscrew the screws on the back of the device and use a pair of tweezers to gently release the pins. (I've already voided the warantee on mine to see what was in it; there's virtually nothing to break in there unless you disassemble the keyboard subassembly, which would take some work.)

I was able to finally get the keyboard to dislodge and sure enough one of the tangs was not moving when the eject button was pushed.
I simply bent it and now it works fine.

Targus tech was somewhat supportive but you need to be adament about them supporting the device other wise they will tell you to contact Toshiba and Toshiba will point you back to Targus. I found out 1st hand.

I'm interested in getting one of those Targus Thumb Keyboards. Other than getting the runaround from Targus Support, how do you like it? Is it worth the investment? Know of any any good prices?

Would appreciate any thoughts from users who have actually used one of these.

I wrote a review of the Targus keyboard for the e740 (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5195&highlight=targus+noteworthy) a month or so ago.

Now that my detaching problem is solved I'd give a thumbs up to the keyboard. Actually thumbs down when using it.

Targus support did take up the cause and I was even provided with the support persons ext. # should I have any more problems.

As far as prices and choices there aren't many choices yet. I purchased mine through Toshiba. It is under $45.

Thank you for your input (no pun intended). I just placed my order with shoptoshiba.com.
