A few days back I posted that my e740 wasnt charging with the cradle connected to the USB port. Then i realized, duh, that the power source also has to connect to the cradle.
Either way, i felt this was total oversight and lame design by Toshiba. Why not afterall use the inherant USB port power supply (as a sync cable would do)?
Anyway I found this article on the net on how to "possibly" mod your cradle to make it charge off the USB connection:

(I havent tried it, since i bought a sync cable and no longer have the worries.. )
