I sold my Jornada 568 about 3 months ago and switched to a Treo 300. The lure of email accessibility was the reason. Decent phone and I can get my email with no problems. Cannot stand how borong Palm is and the small screen just doesn't cut it. What exactly do I need to convert back to PPC? I don't want cables to connect a phone and the PPC. So I assume for general use that would require bluetooth. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. :D

Try a iPAQ 5450. Integrated bluetooth and wi-fi. Then you could get a cell phone with bluetooth. The Ericsson T68i comes to mind.

I used to have an HP 568 and loved it (it was my first PPC after a Palm). I love my iPAQ even better! Good luck.

The Socket Bluetooth card works well - and would have done with your 568....

... or get a Pocket PC Phone. :) Sprint is going to have two within a couple of months, since that appears to be your provider; they may also have a Bluetooth phone (the Sony Ericsson T608), but it's not confirmed yet.

I'll second that. Socket's a good company and Bluetooth technology works VERY well for PPC wireless connectivity. You never have to take the phone out of the pocket meaning your PPC in essence acts as if it had built-in phone capabilities.

Which units is Sprint going to be selling?

I would go for a Pocket PC Phone (XDA, MDA or any other clone). That way you only have to cary one device with you (like you have to now).

There's definitely two sides to that argument. Personally, I prefer two devices. There are times where I don't necessarily want or need to have a PPC with me. I find it much more comfortable to bring my smaller cellphone then to forced to bring a PPC Phone.

Each person is different though so it's a matter of what he needs.

Which phones have bluetooth? Service with a T68i is not available from AT&T in my area.

Your only other choice at this time is T-Mobile. AT&T TDMA, Sprint, and Verizon do not have Bluetooth choices.

And if you are really lucky - the 8910i (http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,,4610,00.html) does too. AND it's titanium :werenotworthy: so you're probably safe if you drop it!

I have an XDA at the moment, and I need to use two phones so that I don't have the hassle of carrying around something the size of a house when I don't need it.

When the contract is up on the XDA, I'll probably be changing for one of these babies and an iPAQ.

... except it won't work in North America, due to Nokia's stupidity with dual-bandedness.

Didn't realise that - you can tell I don't make a habit of travelling to North America, can't you?

Not blaming you ;) I just wish Nokia's execs would come here and discover, with a shock, that their shiny phones don't work while their archenemies' (Sony Ericsson, Samsung, & co.) work just fine.

The phone is also probably a heap load of cash. Im guessing 400 for that shiny piece of garbage. And then factor in the BT card/PDA...ho..hum...
