I am an avid pocketpcthoughts user, been lurking around here since quite a while (not the forum though..). Sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum :)
Anyhows, I couldnt think of a better place to ask this question. I have one desktop, a tablet pc and a laptop. I want to sync the mail with each other but havent found any possible way to do it. Someone suggested using network drive but that would result in only one outlook running. (only one outlook instance can use the .pst at a time) I have to find a better way out.
I want a way so I can be truly mobile, Like If I go out and download new mail or reply and return back all desktops and computer should be synced with each other.
I use outlook xp btw. Is there a better way to do it without using Exchange or other stuff?
Thanks in advance!

Is simply copying the .pst file from one computer to another out of the question? It's not true synchronization, of course, but that might work if your PCs are all networked. You'd have to be religious about it, too, otherwise you could lose data if you forget to do the copying.

I searched long and hard for a way to do this. I came up with two solutions:
1. Get a palm and sync the palm with two computers.
2. Get Exchange.
3. Put the .PST on a network share and only use one copy at a time.
4. Use Hotmail
5. What about IMAP?
I chose 2.

I store my pst file personally on a cdrw and just take it with me from work to home as I use outlook in both places for the same email address. Then whenever I need to check my mail I just make sure to have that cdrw in the drive and it works fine.

Isn't that really slow???
And how can you use a CD-RW like a hard drive?
What happens when the cd gets scratched?

Not terribly, and you can copy it off and back on at the end if the file is too big.
And how can you use a CD-RW like a hard drive?
Use any "packet writing" program, like DirectCD (bundled with Roxio CD Creator 5).
What happens when the cd gets scratched?
You cry? ;) Have backups.
The Exchange Server route is obviously preferable, and IMAP is a close second, but not everyone has that choice.

I can see it now... You get mugged, the guy asks for everything you have, and you sit there crying, not this cd... I have 5 years of email on this cd. Please, i'll give you my clothes and walk home naked, just don't take my cd.

Are you a fan of the Top 5 List (http://www.topfive.com)? You have an interesting concept of "two solutions".
