Yahoo Messenger DISCOVERY -- IT WORKS!!!

a user on pocketpcpassion posted that yahoo messenger for ce worked if you used a proxy.

i tried it and much to my disbelief -- it still works!!!!! there is talk all over the place that a special server was used for wireless access that was shut down over the summer -- NOT TRUE!!!

you do have to change the settings to have a proxy though.

Any working proxy will do. You just have to ask your network administrator, or your internet provider. If you have none, you can use AnalogX Proxy to configure your own.

I can't get Yahoo Mail to work, why would Yahoo Messenger work?

I have same settings I have in Outlook on my desktop, including Authentication for outgoing mail and I get error message. I can receive mail, but not send. In fact, if there is a message in Outbox, it prevents receiving then as well.

Would a proxy setting help? How would I get a proxy setting from Verizon my dial up service?

you need to pay for pop3 when using yahoo mail -- its not provided with their free mail (although it used to be) :(

if youre using a pocketpc phone just view your yahoo mail on the web.

I am paying for it and have no trouble on my Outlook on two computers--PocketPC2002 should not be different that's why I'm confused and wondering if anyone has successfully set up Yahoo mail on their PocketPC Inbox
