There's something I have to admit: I've given up trying to read every message that's posted on the site. I haven't clicked New Posts button in about two weeks. This is a natural evolution for the site: it means we've "grown up" to the point where it's a challenge to keep up with the messages you're all posting. That's cool! 8)<br /><br />We're averaging 184 posts per day, 20 topics per day, and 20 new registered users per day. And lest you think that the flurry New Years Day posts artificially upped that average, it was at around 175 as of January 2nd. Contests or no, we're growing!<br /><br />So, what this means is that you can no longer assume that I'm reading every message. If you need to contact me directly, please click the CONTACT button below the banner in the upper right corner and use the form (do not send me private messages). Remember that I can't answer tech support questions, so please use the awesome knowledge of your fellow Pocket PC Thoughts readers instead by posting to the community section of the site.<br /><br />Thanks for reading, and trust me, the best is yet to come (we're working on something BIG!)

What's scary is that you're the only one with a remotely legitimate excuse to average 92 posts a day. ;)

Oh, and that we've got nothing better to do on a Friday night than post here. (Well, Andy has a legitimate excuse for this one... except you're up too early :D)

Anyway, I can't wait for the BIG stuff to happen...

Having just out of curiosity clicked on your "WWW" icon, you might want to cut your posting time a little and update that web site :P (althought this is probably just my underhanded way of getting rid of you so I can catch up)

You folks run a great site. Certainly, you've raised the bar for many sites. How:

1) Excellent layout.
- Clean.
- Well organized.
- Reasonable, non-intrusive advertising.
- I've only run into a bug once.

2) Great community.
- No fanatics from what I can tell.
- Users are great about offering their usually well formed advice and opinions.

3) The best for last: awesome site admins!

I used to surf at least 6 or 7 different sites a day to get all the PocketPC information I wanted, but nowadays I almost only stay tuned with 'Toughts, PPCW.net and infosync.no.

Loving 'Toughts the most, thank you guys for lots of interesting news brought to us in an excelent way, and the best forums ever :-)

I dislike the feeling of coming online, looking at the message boards and seeing a topic I would have wanted to have commented on as being a couple of hours and a couple of hundred replys ago. Like the world turning and feeling the surface of it, knowing that you are not affecting it's rotation, as it slides under your fingertips.

If I remember correctly, Jason had a front-page poll about 6 months ago asking if people wanted a constrained number of posts (say, 5 per day) or as many as we could handle. The latter won overwhelmingly. I have to admit, I like always having fresh content to look at.

Jason, any chance of adding a feature that allows us to quick tab to the last post viewed on any thread? Brighthand offers this, and it saves a lot of time rejoining a thread that hasn't been viewed in a long time. Many of the threads are now growing to 10+ pages of posts, and I would love to quick-jump to the page I last viewed.

I think a lot of that came from his being "promoted" to a member of the Pocket PC staff. Most of the staff members tend to be top posters (look at Jason and Ed).

That said, Janak was already posting a lot. I remember when he and ThomasC22 hit 300, and I had hit 300 a few days earlier. That wasn't that long ago. :-)

I know that my posting frequency went way up when I stopped trying to follow most of the Pocket PC news sites. This is the only site I read almost every day, so it's also where I post the most (much to the chagrin of some ). I just hope that most of them are useful and/or interesting....

For perspective, Janak and I had a thread where we were discussing posting activity. That was RIGHT before he was promoted to an admin (just over a month ago) and he was around 550 posts over a 9 month span since first registering (I believe you were right around the same area at that time). His output since (he's nearing 1500 total now) would put him at a much higher activity pace than both Jason and Ed I *think*.

This is the only site I read almost every day, so it's also where I post the most (much to the chagrin of some ). I just hope that most of them are useful and/or interesting....
Yeah, this is also the only site that I make time for on a daily basis. I still visit Brighthand once in a while, but it's definitely a different experience.

As for your posting, *cough*... let's leave that alone, shall we?

No seriously, I really enjoy posting with this community here. The most visible posters (which isn't complete without the "Pony-man") always seem to articulate well-thought out (and sometimes controversial) opinions.

I kid Janak about his activity all the time, but despite his increased quantity, he's maintained quality of posts which is commedable.

I think after my 10th post for a given day, I might start spitting out things like "You SUCK!!"... I'm already starting to get light-headed...

So to bring all of this right back into topic, I'm not at all surprised Jason made his announcement. Between his site posting, book-writing, VP'ing (for Spb), new site starting (Digital Media Thoughts), contest facilitating, etc.... you figure there's GOT to be a limit SOMEWHERE!?

We're working on something that will address this. We should have something in the next 30 days (don't hold me to that though - I'm not the one doing all the hard coding work).
