Settings. On my new iPAQ 5455, the power settings to turn device OFF after xx minutes, is NOT working, either in the Battery or External Power mode.
Have tested it with a stop watch on several different time settings. Same results.
Example: Alarm sounds. After 2 minutes on Battery Power, Backlight goes off. Unit does not Power-Off after 3 minutes.
To check any problems or conflicts:
On Battery Power: Turn backlight off if the device is not used for xx, is checked.
On Battery Power: Turn off device if not used for xx, is checked.
Stopped All Programs from Memory->Running Programs. No programs running whatsoever.
BackLight on Battery Power Set: 30 seconds
Device on Battery Power Set: 1 minute
Backlight Powers off at 30 seconds
Device Power does NOT turn off unit at 1 minute, or ever.
Same results on External Power.
Results: Have to manually power down the unit after every use or alarm. If an alarm goes off without user's knowledge, the 5455 stays on permanently, w/o backlight, forever--running the battery down.
Look up a Contact. Backlight goes out, as normal. Device never turns off. Continuously on.
Check your unit. Are you having a similar problem with your new unit?
