OK, I know that Axim 300mhz IS "technically" slower than the 400mhz version, but does it really seem slower? I mean can you tell the difference?
I was just about to order an Axim, but all of a sudden I thought why not the 300Mhz version, since memory is not a concern for me? (I have a 512Mb CF card that I bought for my digital camera, I thought I would need that much memory, but now that I have been using the camera for a while, I figure that a 32Mb CF will meet my needs...). Any suggestions will be helpful.

Might help to not think about it so much as will you see the difference right now but rather will you see it in 6 months when your uses for the ppc have grown.

Personally, I haven't been able to test the 300mhz edition, but given the comments earlier at this website about the bus speed being the limiting factor in your overall speed, I am kind of wishing I had gone with the cheaper edition . . . perhaps that $100 would have been better used toward wireless?

What do you mean by "...your uses for the PPC have grown."... what are those "uses" that will be impossible or difficult with the 300mhz version in the future campared with the advanced Axim, BTW, I really do appreciate you taking time to answer my post... it just sounds a little confusing to me...

UPDATE: BTW, where do you get the Dell Screen Protectors from? I went to Dell's website and coudn't find them, I know they are not the best available, but just wanted it to be on the same order...

what I mean is that if you like your dell enough down the road you might be using it for your mp3 player, picture viewer, ebook reader, gps navigator, game emulater, ect.. to the extent that you use it all the time and every little bit of speed will be valuable to you. Of course if it is going to end up being something you use casually you probably dont need more then the 300mhz but if you find a million + 1 uses for it and use it alot you will want all the speed you can get. Plus, look down the road to the next version of pocket PC or CE. It will have slightly higher requirments and assuming the Dell will be flashable to it that will result in better performance under it.
