Depends on whether your laptop OS recognizes the phone as a modem - I know on my laptop, when I lined up the IR port with the one on my T68i, it said "modem found ... installing driver" ... etc. Works like a charm to connect my laptop.

So I can use it both via IR and bluetooth (which I do with my PPC).

Worth a try!

No. Unfortunately the PPC Phone doesn't work as a modem right now. :(

Cool. I had no idea. Still, putting the device into the boot loader isn't for the faint of heart. Lets hope MS is working on an OS fix/upgrde that will allow it. The SmartPhone 2002 can be used as an IR modem.
