A few years ago after purchasing my 1st PPC, I brought an "e-book" to read on it. Turned out the book was for my desktop and is in adobe format. Since I recently received my Dell I have been able to load the book and read with adobe 1.0 for PPC, but it is not optimized for the PPC. Scrolling left and right is really inconvenient.

My question is can this book converted to LIT format for easier reading? If so, how? If not, does anyone have other suggestions?

Any help is appreciated.

You can use the ms Word add-on to convert documents to lit format. The add-on-is available for downloading in MS website.

that add-on is here (http://office.microsoft.com/downloads/2002/wdReader.aspx).

but if it's an adobe acrobat file, you will have to get some way to go from acrobat to word. the way i've done it before is simply hitting ctrl+a (select all) from within the acrobat file, copying it all, pasting it into word, and then converting.

it's a lot more convenient than adobe, in my opinion.

Thanx for the advice and link. I didn't think I could go straight from Adobe to LIT. However, what you suggest does not seem to work for me. Ctrl+a does not select any text within adobe.

Any other suggestions are appreciated.

One solution would be to convert your PDF file to a Palm format (eek) and use the PeantReader/PalmReader software or uBook Reader to read the document. I use uBook all the time, and it's a great product.

You can find the PDF -> Palm Doc PDB converter (among others) at:

http://www.slack.net/~hermit/ebook/documents/page-4-4.html

and you can find uBook Reader at

http://www.gowerpoint.com

Hope this is helpful!

Your only other solution would be buy a full copy of Adobe Acrobat ($69-$129) and then use that to capture your text. But these other options are free.

Unreal 32,

I don't think either of those solutions will work for me but thanx for the suggestion.
