I just got one.. v nice

I was wondering - the video function produces video files with the extension .mmf - does anyone know what format that is and how I can play or convert it on my PC?

thanks!

i dont know about the files, but i have questions about the camera

How much is it? in US dollars

Is it a battery hog?

How good is the fps on the video?

Where can i get it in the US?

I was looking at the camera before but dropped it when I saw the price in euros and not dollars.

hi!

well, I only got it today so I can't answer all your questions yet (i.e. battery drain etc), but here goes:

1. How much is it? in US dollars

You can get it from www.expansys.us and maybe elsewhere. There
are two versions - a vga (max 640x480 - .35 megapixel) version
(which I have) that costs $131.45 and a svga (max 1280x1024 - 1.3
megapixel) version that costs $197.88

2. Is it a battery hog?

Don't know yet! However I have an external battery for my Loox so
I should be ok anyway.

3. How good is the fps on the video?

The VGA version is 12fps and the SVGA version is15fps

You can read detailed specs of the two versions here - http://www.jactron.co.uk/compact-camera.htm

And is it the 640x480 version(OCCAV) or have they finally got the 'hi-res' one (OCCAS) out?

mine's the OCCAV (640x480). I believe the hi-res version is due out this month, but then again a chap posted on Brighthand today saying he just bought a hi-res version from Handheld Canada so it might be out now.

Posts crossed. The hi-res still seems to be 'available soon' as it has been for 9 months at handheldcanada and expansys. MobilePlanet claims to have them in stock for $149 USD.

Jason...didja get a replacement yet. does it work?
