Active Sync 3.6-Server/Gateway Destroyer

I have 6 pcs and 1 mac. 1 pc is connected to my direc pc modem which shares its connection with the others. My problem is, whenever i put my ipaq in the cradle and active sync starts, my server or gateway so to speak reboots. Can anyone tell me why?

is the cradle connected to the machine that acts as the gateway? what os is the gateway machine running? what version of activesync are you using?
