Yesterday there was an option to get Dell's TrueMobile 802.11b card in the X5, but today it's not there (under Customize it link). Was this a mistake yesterday or what? Will the CF wireless cards work in the X5?

I have been using the Linksys WCF12 card for almost a month, it has worked flawlessly. Setup was very simple, and with the crazy battery life on the Dell it makes an excellent wireless device.

Yes, with no to very little hassle at all. I got my Netgear MA701 card working in about 2 minutes.

It appears that Dell pulls items off their site as the order volume starts to exceed their delivery capability. Something not being on their site, or being removed, should not be construed as it not working. On CF peripherals, these forums are a good place to post a question as to whether someone has tried anything in particular successfully.

Seems if you tell Dell you are a large business the option for the integrated 802.11b is available. Medium-small and Home users obviously don't need integrated wireless.

The integrated option is $99. I know several CF cards are available for around $80.

It's not integrated, but available to ship with the Axim order, I think is what you mean.

True Mobile™ 1180 802.11b Wireless Compact Flash Card [add $99]

I would assume too if you order it, the drivers might already be installed on the Axim for the card, which is nice.

Yeah, I did mean "installed" and not integrated. I wonder how much trouble it would be to add the card later. Currently, it's $89.10 purchased separately....

I got the Netgear MA701 from buy.com

http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=10321502&loc=101

Price After Rebate: $62.16

So why get the True Mobile for $99 or even $89.10?
