Do any of you know when the first Secure Digital Wi-fi cards are coming out?

It's rumored that a SD 802.11b adapter will come out Q1 of 2003

brighthand has an interesting article about it (http://www.brighthand.com/article/Update_on_WiFi_SDIO_Card)

Sychip (http://www.sychip.com/wlan-module.html) is the maker of the SD card, and has quite a bit of information on their website.
They even have a decent datasheet (http://www.sychip.com/PUB/WLAN6060SD5.pdf) on their SD 802.11 card.

you can pre-order them from expansys (http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=WLAN6060) but it's not much use... they don't have a price listed, and they don't have a date that they will have them, and you'd have to buy them from the UK.

here are a few other new articles about it:

http://www.infoworld.com/articles/hn/xml/02/07/10/020710hnintersil.xml
http://www.pcworld.com/news/article/0,aid,102587,00.asp
http://www.infosync.no/news/2002/n/1941.html

with all the news about it, you'd think it was already out ;)

can you tell I was looking into buying one? Instead, I bought the Toshiba e740. I'm glad I did!

Smart move. The sd wi-fi and the e740 will probebly be around the same price when the card is released.
