What Are You Doing New Year's Day?
Posted by Brad Adrian @ 01:00 AM

Don't forget to come visit Pocket PC Thoughts on January 1, 2003.

Heh, like you have to ask... :) What loyal reader wouldn't start his/her year out with PPC Thoughts?

Well, with the public service announcements, Brad's making sure that no one is so dead drunk that they can't visit the site. :drinking:

Yeah I mean, what kind of PPC user are you if you don't make Thoughts your first stop at 12:00.00000000001 AM on Jan 1st?

No seriously, I will be checking here for sure. Can't wait to see what Jason and crew have up their sleeves. :-)

OK, I'll admit, the phpBB setup here doesn't have that kind of precision, so you won't see a post that quick in the New Year.

Good idea. :D

OK, so the real question is: New Years Day where? As in what time zone?

Wow, Brad is really hyping it up. Just in from the front page :-) -

I just wanted to remind you that you will *really* want to visit Pocket PC Thoughts early and frequently on New Year's Day.

All during 2002, we've been fortunate to have wonderful support from many, many readers, contributors and developers. So, in order to kick 2003 off right, we are all working together to "spread it around," so to speak. I'm not going to say anything more, but if you're one of those people who complain, "I never win ANYTHING," you'll definitely want to hit this site as often as possible on January 1.
Sounds once again like we don't want to miss it.

As for time zone, the forum time is GMT -6 hours, otherwise known as US Central Time, Central American Time, etc.. So I'm guessing this maybe when the posts start? 6:00 GMT, 1:00 EST, 12:00 CST, 11:00 MST, 10:00 PST. (aren't you glad the TV networks don't name off all the time zones? Good, then I'll shut up now, I hate insomnia)

I don't want to give away too much, but find out where Brad lives (forums search), and you're golden. :)

Got it... I think. Bah... I'll just check back every 15 seconds starting at around 8pm tonight just to be safe.

15 seconds? Now now, we don't want to overload Jason's server on New Year's eve...

If I haven't done it yet (overload)... I don't think I'm gonna. :) But yes... perhaps every 45-60 minutes would be better.

Research always finds a better answer. Isn't that our current mission? ;)

But I'm going to my inlaws for New Year's Eve, and that's difficult to do from the office... ;)

I also took off a few days from work due to being rear-ended and getting a mild concussion and whiplash. I would rather have been working, especially given upcoming paper deadlines that I already knew I'd probably need an extension for.

Isn't Nowhere Special about 75 miles south of anywhere and 15 miles north of just south of nowhere special? I thought surely I had driven by it at one point...
