I've been trying to set up my Toshiba 740 for four days now with no luck at all.
I have a DSL connection and a Linksys usb adapter on my desktop (XP Pro) that I'm trying to run in ad-hoc mode. No matter what IP I assign to my PPC, 192.168.x.xx, I always get a conflict error message on the PC.
The funny thing is I can usually ping the adapter from the PPC, no matter what the IP even with the conflict, but I haven't been able to surf the net, or connect to AS. Every time I try to surf, I get an error message that the page cannot be found or about my settings. I have them set to Work, Work, Work and have tried a number of different combinations to no avail.
I have read a number of online tutorials about setting up an ad-hoc network and have searched the forums with no luck. Is there anyone out there who can help, please.
