However, the company has begun to branch out, first into tablet PCs and now into handhelds. For its entrance into the PDA theater, ViewSonic introduces its V35, a lightweight Pocket PC with a bright, 65,000-color screen; a swift 300MHz Intel XScale processor; and a low $299 price tag. You can find more powerful or less expensive Pocket PCs, but the ViewSonic holds its own with a balance of size, power, and affordability. Though the unit has some minor flaws, they are somewhat to be expected in the first version of a device. Overall, we think that the V35 is a bargain."

Wow, that is one of the shortest reviews I have ever read. No mention of the memory fiasco... just as well - it is still a good device.

From the 'features' tab:

With 36.45MB of available RAM, the V35 has slightly more memory than most 300MHz Pocket PCs but considerably less than the 64MB found in most high-end models.

Looks like they hid it, but they addressed it (at least from a neutral standpoint, not judging Viewsonic).
