A.) The Jornada Pocket PC Phone you cannot purchase here in the U.S.A.
B.) Audiovox Thera is not a true Pocket PC Phone
C.) T-Mobile/AT&T/O2 have the same device with a different name.
So; with that said, if you live anywhere outside the U.S.A. say, in Europe or Japan with ties to get your hand on a Jornada I'd say the Jornada simply for the pure fact of expandability although it's much heavier than the MDA/XDA Pocket PC Phone and may be considered to "cumbersome" as a phone. However, the best (and only true Pocket PC Phone) is the T-Mobile MDA-XDA/AT&T/O2 XDA at this time. I have the T-Mobile XDA/MDA and I do love it. I think it's the "best" over the Audiovox Thera and there are many ways to expand this device so do not let the SD slot hold you up from purchasing one if you're looking to buy one. We've discussed many issues for "working around" this fact of the SD slot not being I/O compatible such as expanding to:
1.) Cameras
2.) Keyboards
3.) Larger SD cards (1-4 gig SD cards are coming out next year *rumor*)
4.) GPS Software and hardware is already out and available for purchase.
5.) Wireless headsets (Non-Bluetooth headsets from Jabra)
6.) They even have SD printers now!

I have to say I agree. The only think I don't like about my XDA is the size.
Now I know that there's no getting away from it, but it just doesn't fit into a jeans pocket!
So I keep a Nokia 8310 for the weekends

Really? I think the size is quite small considering what it can do. I wish the antenna wasn't as big; however. Even the "SmartPhones" are quite large in comparison (some of them). Anyway, being the uber-geek that I am I keep mine on my side in it's Fort Knox case . I am always using it anyway (MS Money houses all of my receipts so I always know how broke I really am  and I have to keep tabs on it). I would be afraid to keep mine in my pocket since the screen would get scratched. But I agree, it would kind of difficult to keep it in your pocket and sit down and be comfortable.

I normally stick mine in a suit pocket during the week, without the case on (which is OK as long as I remember not to put anything else in there!)
I actually used the supplied case today - and I swear that I've managed to scratch the screen putting it in :(

That will ruin any day; I don't care how good it was going for you. I am sorry to hear that . There is good news though. If you are with T-Mobile then you can swap out your phone for $70.00 and get a refurbished one. I did and I cannot tell the difference (I swear it's brand new!). Just be sure that if you do this that you check your ROM version before sending the original back. I've heard stories of people getting older ROM versions for some reason.
That's why I never used my Pocket PC Phone's original case until my Vaja case came in. I took the magnet clips off of the case the first day I bought it and decided this wasn't good enough and just waited until the case came in the mail. I scratched mine by using the stylus :!: after the first week. But, I've found the *perfect* method to keep this from happening again, aside from screen protectors that is. Here in the hospital we have a 4 inch x 4 inch piece of material that is made of silica gel. It absorbs liquids (um, use your imagination here :)) and wicks them away into this cloth which expands to 10 times its original size. Well, here is what I do: I clean my Pocket PC Phone's screen and the stylus with regular alcohol and then rub this fabric over it and the stylus. It leaves a slick film (you cannot see it) made of silica over the screen and also the stylus. The after effects are a very slippery screen and a very slippery stylus. It adds a protective film from the alcohol degrading the silica in the material thus leaving the film on the screen but also cleaning it of any impurities. It's a marvel.

I wonder if we have the same sort of thing in hospitals here in the UK.
I have a friend who is a nurse.....
....I can see a whole new business opportunity opening up before me 8)
I've just cleaned my screen after getting paranoid about scratches, and realised that I've managed to make what is very nearly a crater just where the deck of cards is in Solitaire
Referring to another thread around here somewhere, mabye that's why Microsoft bundle Solitaire with this OS - so you have to replace the hardware every so often

Wow 8O a crater! No- that hasn't happened to me thank goodness. Good luck with a replacement? I don't know how it works over there.
I work in neurosurgery, so this cloth may be limited. I don't know. I know that we definitely do not have the same brands and names of medications as the U.K.

So all I need to do is find something which is capable of soaking up brains :silly:

  That's funny. No, it's used to actually for CSF (Cerebral Spinal Fluid) not brains; close though . It's used for a packing (Not UPS, FedEX, or Airborne Express) wounds and for closures during surgeries where "sponges" are a little to abrasive around the ol' noggin.
