Does anyone know a wifi AP sniffer that will work with my Linksys WCF11?? I've tried a bunch of other the people recommended in a recent post, but none of them seemed to work..

It would seem that the more popular ones only work on certain chipsets. Most notably, they only seem to work with Lucent and maybe one other chipsets. Most unfortunately, these chipsets seem to dominate the PC card market, but not the CF WiFi segment. Thus, if you have a CF WiFi, like myself (Socket), then you're out of luck.

Fortunately, you can yield pretty decent success at finding open signals using a feature built into most cards. If you set the ESSID to ANY (yes, in captals), it usually will detect the ESSID of nearby signals and patch you through. It doesn't really work if it's password protected in any way, but it it's open, it works like a charm. See if your card supports this feature.

Try PocketWarrior. It's supposed to work with Linksys Cards.
