As an engineer he must find out what they're made of. In the linked thread on Pocket PC Passion Dale shows the inner works of an iPAQ 5450. Dale, you do know this voids your warranty, don't you? ;)

I believe the one he opened up was a pre-production unit that's "free" to him at his disposal. Read his post.

I believe I have to explain the meaning of the wink smiley. My remark was not meant to be taken serious. It was a joke.

It is amazing how much electronics they can pack in such a small space.... and these devices keep getting smaller each year!

As a true engineer, he probably couldn't restore it to it's original state, and would have sent it back in pieces  I would have loved to see the faces of the marketing department of HP/Compaq when they recieve a unit back like that :)

Well... I've spoken with Dale where we imagined the looks on the faces of Compaq support when they get to see his 3870 with 128 MB of RAM and the internal big battery. :)

Darn it... that should be a tell-tale sign to Compaq engineers and marketing folks that there is a market for such devices.
