I am putting the final touches on a website, that, although only serves the Central Texas area, could easily be duplicated for other parts of the country. I work for an NBC affiliate, here in Austin, Texas, and have made this available for our viewers with pocketpc phones, and wireless handhelds.
The pocketpc section is finished, but the smartphone and palm-os sections still need links to imagery.
If you wouldn't mind, hitting the site, poking around and letting me know what you think. If you like it, call your local tv station and tell them to do the same. They can call/email me for help setting it up.

When you select an area, a map will pop up, it's usually 6-13k in size, so it's pretty quick, but to return to the menu, just click on the map.
I've tested it on a Jornada 548 with 802.11b, but I'm looking to finish this site before getting a pocketpc phone... maybe the station I work for, will spring for a nice new phone!
