Not that I have details, but my girlfriend ordered one for me for Christmas around the 5th or 6th with an arrival date of the 21st, and it has already shipped as well. Of course, I have to freaking wait until Christmas to get it. But I can't really complain about a free X5 now can I?
How do I know I'm getting it for xmas you ask? Well, my old iPAQ 3630 finially started the wonderflu screen flip/mirror problem and I was debating on getting it upgraded while I send it in for repair to PocketPC Techs. I mentioned that I was going to get the upgrade to her and she let it slip that she just ordered one for me! Of course, now I can't get Pocket PC techs to respond to my request to have my order changed from an upgrade, to just a repair. I even had my unit boxed up and ready to ship but I'm not sending it anywhere until they confirm they will let me downgrade the order. It's been over a week with no response. I'm going to hang on to my iPaq until I get my Dell anyway, as the screen flip is fairly intermittent and I can "fix" it with slight pressure on the upper left side of the case.
Anyway, I digress...
It is my guess that they put overly conservative dates on the orders to allow them some fudge factor for delays in shipping or processing.
Good luck with yours! I can't wait for mine!

I ordered mine December 5th, and delivery date is still Dec. 26th...BUMMER!!! Hopefully Santa's helpers will put in some O.T. and get it shipped in time for Christmas.

Has you're girlfriend gotten it yet? They usually list two packages with an Axim order, the first of which is simply a piece of paper (invoice) and that usually ships right away.

It might actually be correct. I just went and checked my order. I originally placed my order on December 5th like you and I was given an estimated shipping date of December 20th with arrival on December 25th - 26th (maybe on the sleigh?). 8O
But when I look now, it shows "In transit to local carrier". According to the Dell website, this means "The typical duration of this stage is 1-3 business days." Then it's just the normal delivery time. That would mean it's getting shipped out approximately 3 days earlier than originally estimated. :D
Not bad, Dell. Not bad at all.

That's only for online orders, btw. I did mine over the phone to get the extra 10% off (back on the 19th of Nov), and didn't have the 2 order issue.

i ordered mine on thursday (dec 12th) with a ship date of the 23rd.
but... as I am seeing here, and elsewhere, Dell is being fairly conservative on the ship date, and most of them ship earlier than the date they show.
I hope that dell ships mine early as well. on time shipment would mean i don't get it until after christmas...
But I have to ask... your complaining that it's geting there early? :D

Okay, she got the UPS shipping note on the door that said they tried to deliver it. Now she wont tell me when she's getting it delivered! Arghhhhhh!!!
Ah well, bound to get it eventually, probably later rather than sooner by the look she is giving me at the moment!
