<a href="http://www.proporta.com/detail.asp?id=374">http://www.proporta.com/detail.asp?id=374</a><br /><br />I recently made some major upgrades to my technology, such as getting myself a brand new PC, and there are not some not so major upgrades. I recently "upgraded" my iPAQ Pocket PC 3970 stylus! I found a stylish and comfortable 3-in-1 stylus from Proporta and have tried it the last couple of days. The stylus has three "features": <br />"1. Reset pen - Hidden, revealed after un-screwing the soft nylon tip.<br />2. Standard pen - Hidden pen, revealed after un-screwing the base.<br />3. Soft nylon tipped end reducing the likelihood of scratches"<br /><br />The stylus fits perfectly in my iPAQ Pocket PC. You see from the pictures below, the silver stylus from Proporta beside the original. Christmas is coming up. Perhaps you've got a friend that would appreciate a stylus upgrade?<br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/3-in-1.jpg" />

Nylon tips, huh? These sound similar to the tips on the Cross pens which I really like (but unfortunately don't use b/c they have yet to release a desireable multi-function pen). The tips are real soft on the screen and feel much better IMO than the hard-tip stylus.

This sounds like a good option... of course that's as long as I decide to keep my iPaq38xx... hopefully, they'll start making tips for the upcoming PDAs like the Axim.

Personally, I'd like a white LED built into a sylus with a pen that fits into the silo of the Ipaq. I'd pay up to $20 for that, but $15 for a stylus with a pen end seems pricy to me.

Too bad they don't resell in the US. I'd buy 2 of them!

How heavy is this stylus?

I had the PDA Panache stylus for my 39xx and I found that the extra weight seemed to deaden the spring mechanism a little bit. The stylus didn't pop all the way out because it was too heavy.

I just wonder about the long-term effects of a significantly heavier stylus... the spring was designed to accomodate a specific weight.

i use my ipaq, with the ipaq antenna custom made steel stylus, for about 4 month now with no problem at all, at least so far .....

That's interesting, as I had to stop using the antenna as it was grating the silo of my 3970. I returned it Mark Hammil who gave me a full refund, excellent service. The stylus itself is fantastic, it's a shame it does not fit the 3970 too well.

Back when I was Palm user, I used the landware floating point stylus (http://www.landware.com/floatingpoint/index.asp) this was a great stylus and I only wish it was available for the pocketpc too.

I've been on the lookout for a good stylus replacement for the 3970. I'll check out the panache and see if it's up to the job.
