I just got my x56 from AT&T and I am not able to configure any of the connections other than the gprs connection. I mean it will let me configure the connections but it will not dial out. It will show it is dialing but does not place the call. I had a T-Mobile PC Phone edition and it allowed me to dial out. I want to dial into my telephone switch that is not connected to the network to check alarm status. Is anyone else having this problem or has AT&T blocked that option now that they offer an unlimited voice plan? I tried a hard reset. I unchecked wait for dial tone. I tried Dialup Master. I can't get it. Thanks in advanced.....

You know. I tried to configure my iPaq38xx to dial out using my T68 (AT&T) and the same thing would happen to me as well. The phone shows that it's actually trying to dial, but the phone never actually connects. I even tried having the T68 dial into my own home and while the T68 shows it's trying to call, the home phone never rings.

While I had heard in the past some issue with "CSD" as Entropy mentioned, I figured that at the very least, I should be able to dial out and that any technical problem would surface when the handshake begins between my PPC and the destination system.

Let me know if you get resolution. I'm currently in-and-out of the country so I can't research this effectively.
