5450 iPAQ Release Date?

So when exactly is the actual release date for the highly anticipated 5450? i.e. When will they be on the shelf?

December 9 has come and gone with no product.

I guess I should refine my question. I wonder when we might see the new iPAQ in the local retail stores?

Ah. I'd guess any day now, although substantial volume will probably take a few weeks...

By the way, the 1910 and 5450 releases have been among the most on-schedule for the iPaqs. The 3650 and the 3870 were insanely delayed.

I spoke with HP yesterday (Monday, the 9th) and asked them about the release. They are not currently shipping, and they are now saying they MAY ship by the 13th.

As I was speaking to the rep, the server went down when he was trying to access the web site. I assume that they will update the site.

Amazon has it through its Office Depot Partnership at $750. but I found it at a non-affilate (;-) for $50 less in stock. YRMV.

Was in a local Dallas CompUSA today. 5450's in stock, on-display (next to the 3955 & 3975's on sale), and ready for you to purchase for $699.

Extended in-store exchange policy, $59 for one-year, or $99 for three-years.

The salesman behind the counter was practically begging one customer to bring his old iPAQ in from the car, tell them it was not working properly and exchange it for the cost difference--no questions asked.

So close...yet so far.
