Our own Foo Fighter got his Dell Axim X5 yesterday and while waiting the requisite 4 hours for it to charge, he whipped up a few themes.<br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/hansberry/2002/20021206-dellfoo1.jpg" /> <img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/hansberry/2002/20021206-dellfoo2.jpg" /><br /><br />You can download the one on the <a href="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/files/Dell.tsk">left here</a> and the one on the <a href="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/files/Dell2.tsk">right here</a>. Very cool! :way to go:

These themes should come factory installed with every Dell :)

Cool work, Foo Fighter 8)

The requisite 4 hours? :) I usually wait 24 hours to "deep charge" a new device battery...

I don't know if, with modern li-poly batteries and chargers that protect against overcharging, it matters to do that anymore. But, back in the day of ni-cad and ni-mh, it was always a good thing to do.

Patience, patience... :)

Thanks for the themes foo fighter! I've downloaded them and will put them on as soon as I get mine :D

I'm planning on charging mine at least six hours when it arrives, just for extra measure. This will be my first device with Li-ion power. I've read that they're nowhere as finicky as the previous two technologies were...

Great looking themes (as usual) Foo! Did you post them to our site yet? I looked but didn't see them yet.

I can't believe Foo actually bought a Pocket PC...

Nice themes!

New owner (hopefully today) of Dell Axim. Some photoshop experience creating web graphics.

What tools do you recommend for creating and loading themes?

thanks,
Richard

pop63,

Though I am a bit  partial, the best theme creation app as voted by the PocketPC Awards judges is our very own ThemeMakerPT (http://www.pocketthemes.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=32) app. There is a free trial you can download using this link as well. Enjoy! 8)

We also have a great theme Developer's Guide (http://www.pocketthemes.com/sections.php?op=viewarticle&artid=5) on the site as well.

Thanks guys! :D

I didn't care too much for Dell's default theme. It is surprisingly dull.

Stone, I'll upload them to your site tomorrow.

Maybe my iPaq 3835 already does this automatically, and I just haven't noticed, but how do you get phone numbers to appear next to your appointments on the today screen like that? (Sorry, I know I'm OT).

TIA!

With Pocket Informant, when you tap/hold on a contact and select "Create Appointment" or "Create Task" it automatically puts the name and phone number in the task subject. It looks like they are putting it in the Location field for it to appear where it is next to the time.

You know, when I took my Axim out of the box and put it together, it was FULLY charged. I was amazed. And happy! I was expecting to have to wait....but the battery readout said 100%. It was odd though :)
