Appologies up front as I'm sure this is a newbie question.

Situation -- needing to switch between Palm Hotsync (Personal until my Axim arrives) and my new PPC (Corporate - Symbol unit with only Serial sync) syncing on my laptop.

Problem -- only one serial port.

I've been able to make this work only by removing and re-installing ActiveSync when I need it.

Any help would be awsome.

Thanks...

Try this freeware app from Micrologics:

ActiveSync Toggle (http://www.micrologics.co.uk/library/ast/)

You can also open AS and just uncheck allow serial cable connection under connection settings.

I just got my Blackberry (corporate IT issued), I have run into the problem of how to sync both my PPC and Blackberry. Currently I have to go into the options setting and switch the COM ports, and then switch the serial plugs -- quite a hassle. I checked the web and saw that they make a USB to serial port converter. Will this ease my dilemma?? Any other suggestions?

Of course, you can also use your USB ports and/or Infrared ports if you have them. I use the serial port for my MP2100, Infrared port for my iPaq 3950, and USB port for my Palm and synchronize with Outlook with no problems on my laptop.
