Has ANYONE actually recieved a Viewsonic yet? Amazon keeps pusing my ship date back (originally set for late November, now set for Dec 3, waiting for new update). I was always torn between the V35 and the Dell. Just wondering if anyone has had a chance to take the v35 for a spin, and if so, what their initial impressions were.

Two people who apparently just received their V35 have posted short comments and the results are mixed...

1) Look for a post by "Henry" on 12/3/02 @ 1:57pm with the subject "Viewsonic V35 vs Toshiba e310" in the MS forum: MS PocketPCForum (http://www.microsoft.com/mobile/pocketpc/club/newsgroups/newsgrp.asp)
2) View the latest posts in this thread: PDABuzz forum topic - Where'd my memory go? (http://forums.pdabuzz.net/showthread.php?s=3f9fbcac43d3017857053bc34d217e53&threadid=43921&perpage=15&pagenumber=3)

The Good: Seems the display and overall construction is good, and it runs fast

The Bad: Only 38MB is available to the user, not 64MB as advertised. I would guess that the OS operates out of RAM instead of ROM (not XIP).

Ouch.

MarkV,

Thanx for the info. Now I'm REALLY having 2nd thoughts about picking this over the Dell. This just goes to show how useful certain reviews are. How could a half-way decent reviewer possibly miss this!

I also have a V35 on order from Amazon with a ship date of 12/6, and I'm trying to decide whether to cancel or not :(

For me, the Dell Axim is not an option because it's just too big. I have a Toshiba e310 now and love the size since it fits easily and discreetly in my pants pocket.

The memory issue with the V35 is troublesome because it's a bit misleading, but then I use an SD card so it's not that much of an issue for me. I may just wait to get the V35 and then decide based on how it looks, feels in my hand, and works...
