HELP!!! Wireless internet for an iPAQ 3970
Hi guys.....
I am trying to set up a wireless internet connection for my iPAQ 3970 (with built in bluetooth)

For my PC i have a USB D-Link bluetooth adaptor

http://www.dlink.com/products/usb/dbt120

now the prob is...i have installed it....and can wirelssly transfer files etc between my iPAQ and pooter....but i cant access the internet!.....whenever i try to access the net or MSNmessenger i get "unable to connect with current settings....to change yr current settings tap settings"....grrrrr

ive mucked around withthe setting and there doesnt seem anywhere to set up a bluetooth wireless net connection....but i am connected to my PC as it transfers files no probs.....

any idea guys?.....i very much would like to walk out into the lounge and be on the net

Btw im running XP prof and have enabled share network connection in the dialup properties

cheers
muttsa

PS: it accesses the net fine when its in the USB cradle tho!

Are you starting your connection from your 3970 using "Start ActiveSync" or are you using the "Bluetooth Manager" to "Connect to Network Access"?

Both work, but the ActiveSync route is much easier. You just connect with ActiveSync and surf away.

I usually connect using "Connect to Network Access" because I find it a bit faster, but I'm using that with Ethernet network sharing and haven't tried that with dial up sharing so I dunno if that is different.

hello, i suggest starting from the very beginning to see if you can spot what it could be and if there are any errors. also try calling compaq and Linksy
