In an effort to appeal to more advertisers, I'm trying to gather some demographic information about you, the Pocket PC Thoughts reader (advertisers like that sort of stuff). I'll be doing a few surveys like this over the next week. These surveys are completely anonymous - we can't tie the votes into your account in any way, so your privacy and security are completely protected. You have my word on that, so please vote in the poll honestly. :-)

The classes are wrong... if you are 17 (me!) or 35, then you could be in two classes. I assumed it was supposed to be "10-17" and "18-25" so I voted 10-17.

Jason, you should just have used Kati's existing poll. :)

I'm surprised, although this poll is one of the more intriguing ones. I'm in the minority 10-17 group! I would like to know who is under 10 and visiting this site. It seems a bit young. Perhaps the guy from www.pocketpckids.com ?

Hmmm - I would have thought that the advertisers would have liked their info a bit more fine-grained - like kati42's poll. Anyway - more than happy to pass my demographic info on for you Jason.

I would have thought that Pocket PCs would be much bigger in the 17-25 range. I graduated from college in the summer that Pocket PCs (the actual PPCs w/ WinCE 3.0) came out, so handhelds hadn't really taken off yet; just a few Palms here and there. But I've heard from friends still in college that "everyone" has them in class now, taking notes, playing games, surfing or whatnot. Anyone in college confirm this?

I think that "teens" should get our own category (particulary: highschoolers) and not be bunched up with 10 11 12 and even 13 year olds who use their ppc as gameboys

I bet 36 year olds and 50 year olds object to being in the same category.... ;)
Not that it's actually a big deal, though.

Ah, err, yes. I made a boo-boo there. Completely breaking the rules for proper polling, I changed the second 17 to an 18 on the assumption that most people like yourself voted in the first category.
Ultimately this isn't meant to be a scientific poll, so it's all ok. :D

Perhaps, but it has too many choices IMO - I didn't want to confuse people.

Isn't there a law about collecting demographic information (even if done anonymously) from children under a certain age without parental concent?

Is there? Hmm - that thought never crossed my mind. Even anonymously? That seems odd doesn't it....? :?
