By open do you mean "free" or "Source Code Available and Supported"?

Hi, phpBB is really cool, flexible, stable and ... FREE! Itīs great! Have a look at http://www.phpbb.com and read the forum (Community) to get a lot more information about phpBB. Renz

Well, if you're running .NET server you might want to at least look into this (http://www.asp.net/Forums/Default.aspx?tabindex=1&tabid=39).

I really have no experience with it but I made a quick glance over of it and it looked pretty good. It runs on ASP.NET so it should be a snap to set up.

maxwebportal forum runs very smoothly on my win2k machine. it support asp and ms access so you don't need to install anything. setup takes less than 5mins. goto www.aspin.com and search for it.
