I have an Ipaq 3670 with BT exapnsion pack and a Pretec Bluetooth Cf card on may laptop. I am trying to activesync over bluetooth, but after I bond my device via the bluetooth manager, for some reason it does not discover all of the services on my laptop. For example it does not see the serial port service through which I would activesync my Ipaq. I know it is available because I can see that the Bluetooth Serial is on com 5 in device manager on my laptop. Moreover, in bluetooth neighborhood on my laptop (the software with the pretec CF card), one of the listed services is "serial port." Despite this when I select the laptop device in bluetooth manager on my ipaq and it locates services I do not see connect to com 5 as one of the available services. Further, if I go ahead and try and activesync, it says that there are no serial port services available for the laptop. Any ideas? I can't seem to figure it out.
Just so you know, I have already opened the connection settings menu and set the serial infrared communications port to com 5. Again, any ideas?

I have a different set-up to you, but I got it working by connecting the other way round. After bonding the devices, I go to the Bluetooth neighbouhood on my PC and search for the iPaq's available services. This will show a serial port service. Connect this service and once connected, start Activesync from the iPaq's BT Manager.

I used the following guide to set it all up (I have a similar set-up to this, but I'm sure you can adapt it):
