The Peacemaker runs on a 2-GHz Intel Pentium 4 and has 1GB DDR RAM, a Western Digital 40GB hard drive, a Logitech keyboard, and a Pioneer North America DVD-ROM 16X. The upgrade features a 3.0-GHz Pentium 4 with 2GB DDR RAM, 180GB hard drive, a 20-inch flat-panel monitor, and a recordable DVD-CD burner."

I don't want to be caught by my friends or anyone I know sitting on that chair inside my house. This has to be the geekiest thing I have ever seen

See, now I'd want to rip that sucker apart and put in my own computing equipment. And where the heck are you supposed to put the cradle for your pocket pc??

These things were at Comdex. Comfortable, but too expensive. I can't even imagine trying to get managment to pay for them. Plus they really lack any space to lay papers out (they have a "solution" for every "complaint" which reminded me a bit of time-share sales pitch I also sat through for a few free show tickets.

I need a new computer desk, and that ain't it. Chair height has to be whatever my mood is at the moment, monitors have to be at eye level, keyboard has to be useable and I would be embarrassed by having something so 'Tubular, dude'.

David, having used tape, nails, screws, hot glue, epoxy, bungie cords on my own computer desk, I would suggest velcro.

Well there is also this little contraption http://www.officeorganix.com/Eropod500.htm
I just have to figure out how to put that bed in my office - and pull Costanza in style. In case you thought you have seen it all.

I see no place to set a coffee cup, for heaven's sake. And how about a telephone? And yes, the PPC cradle? A place to jot a note on a piece of dead tree? And where do you insert a CD? By crawling under the seat? :?

I agree, this is a solution in search of a problem.

Newsflash - (above) This just in: 500 computer users were crushed today in horrible desk related accidents.

The whining noise is just the PC's fan, not a dental drill.

Looks like part of an Apollo-era spaceflight simulator without the launch crew to get you in and out of it. And is that an iMac in the photo??

Workstations like this could be very interesting, but looking at the sheer size of it, I wonder how widely adopted it could ever be? It sure does look comfortable though... :D

When I saw the picture of this chair, only one thing came to mind: The Matrix. Remember that chair that Tank, the operator sat in? It looks VERY similar to this. :D

Do you feel the need, the need for speed?

18 case fans vibrating between your legs, ease the seat back...

Does it have a CPU Mips throttle? Vroom, Vroom!!

I still like my own setup ;), all those contraptions seriously lacked desktop space. I have a deep desk (about 3' deep) that surrounds me on 3 sides. My computers & a notebook were arranged all around me except for a clearing right in front of me. That's coz my TV's about 2 feet in front of my desk & is directly facing me. It's switched on whenever I'm home & won't get switched off until I leave; my computer system is on 24-7. I have a very comfortable reclining computer chair & an adjustable footrest that has a built-in warmer. There's a back massage pad installed onto my chair. My Hi-Fi system's arranged optimized to my chair position. I eat, sleep, surf the Web, watch TV, DVDs, listen to my stereo, etc. all sitting/lying right here on my comfy chair. Sometimes I could've sworn I grew roots on my chair!
I'm still trying to hook up a multiple IV system & plumbing system to it so that all my nutritional needs & bodily functions can be taken care of without having to violently tear myself off my chair! 8O I'll be totally assimilated! Resistance unnecessary! 8)

I'm using two unfinished kitchen cabinets with a 2ft by 6ft board across them with a supported 13inch depth shelf above with my homemade flourescent light screwed in underneath, a cheap pc microphone with the base single-nailed(so it can swivel) underneath, CF reader and USB hub bungied to a side post . Behind an above is my homemade Luon bulletin board with my whiteboard hanging from it. Ok when I first started using it now it's inadequate.

At some point in the future I'll strip this all down and replace it with something 4ft in depth 6ft wide and 3 shelves up. A printer that is more space concious than my Epson Stylus 600. A shallow minor shelf to get speakers, switchboxes and hubs from being buried by papers. I need some type of clipboard organizer for projects and somewhere to hang my whiteboard and markers.

I like furniture that I could stand on. I've had the pressboard things that were held together by the wood patterned tape that wrapped around the boards. One little 14 inch color TV started the thing to sag to the floor. I've bought the unfinished furniture, a TV/Stereo cabinet that I had to sand and stain and remove the back panel for depth to fit the TV/Stereo.

I built a 2-drawer classic-type file cabinet from scratch and likely spent $250 for wood and parts. After I was done, it looks good, but I might have saved the time and effort and gone to an office surplus place. I wanted to build it.

I've found it near impossible to find lamps and lighting that I would like. Everything has to have a wall-tranformer power supply, I'm using three power-strips, a rebuilt(by me) surge protected master power switch from an Apple2 system, an extension cord for power for the other computer, and an APC SmartUPS900(batteries replaced by me).

Just who is the Martha Stewart of officespace?
