http://www.gustto.com

Many people wear their Pocket PCs naked, as they find many of the current cases "geek material". Thanks to a Mobigeeks article on Gustto, we now know this is not necessarily so.

From the pictures alone you get a pretty good idea on the idea behind the Gustto cases, and the text clarifies it more. In short: Gustto creates case fashion. The prices of the cases are also in the fashion range, but if you can afford this, you can carry nothing but a Pocket PC and still look dressed. Well... you know what I mean.

Let's be honest, Pocket PCs are for geeks.... :)

Someone is going to have to remove that picture. I tried reading what this post was about and cannot get past the word "naked." I am still not sure I am at the right site. I remember I was looking for.... something..... :?

....naked....

Man talk about a site that should have their "License to Macromedia Flash" revoked.

It remined me of a Saturday Night Live Sketch with fashionible people waving their hands in front of my face.

Neat idea, but man, what an unfriendly site! And it's ironic that you wouldn't be able to view it on the PPC they are hawking cases for.

One of these fine days I'm going to sew a custom "bandolier" type holder for my PPC, cell phone, keys and credit card/ID. After all, that's all I really need.

Lol, agreed... I about doubled over in my chair just watching the intro alone. "A new dimension of beauty" (in the background) "beauty" They should've hired a geek and not an art student to design their site apparently.

LOL. No need to show the models face. Just the case and her chest and will be fine. :P :? Sex sells...I guess. One thing about that flash presentation. It mentions sensuality about these cases. I just about fell out of my chair laughing. The Whitney cases, then, must be a organismic experience. :D So thin. So light. So versatile. *Homer Simpson voice* Oh baby.
I'm surprised that Comdex hasn't turned into a flesh factory similar to most Japanese trade shows for video games. Then again. I've never been to Comdex. 8O

Well the picture doesn't make the case out to be very flattering. First of all, the case looks so heavy that the model is hunched over from the weight. It also doesn't look very comfortable from the look of anguish from the model's face (well, half face of her face anyway...)

And is that part of the case strap wrapped around her neck?!?!?

For men, it's pretty geeky to be seen walking around with visible external objects (like fanny pack, purse, cellphone/PDA on the belt, pocket protector, etc).

So just get a flip cover from www.thepocketsolution.com , and carry your PPC in your pocket. That's what I do with my Toshiba e310, and it works well.

I doubt it. I've seen those "collars" on a lot of dresses.

Ahhh, amateurs. Models are supposed to look uncomfortable, anguished, and pouty.[/b]

Why not buy a neck wallet from any travel shop (about 10 ukp) and be done with it? Can vouch for security - used this to carry passport, cash etc in Thailand and it was both comfy and secure - but really, not what I'd use for a PDA.

I bought the Krusell case that I've got to reduce the battering and potentially unit killing of day to day usage.

When I wear the thing on my belt I spend more time looking for it because it will quietly disconnect at the last place I was sitting. I'm going to dump this leather case and replace it with a canvas holster.

8) Perhaps this is a new use for the vibrating alarm on the iPAQ 5450...

I don't think the eye candy makes up for the Flash, though.

Yup, see this is the problem. I have to say, I pretty much don't care what others think of me a good 99.9% of the time (I think I've proven at very least that about myself lately  ) but this paticular stigma has got me. Anything that clips on to a belt is banned from my Wardrobe (that SNL guy who always screams "MOVE!" really got to me).

It's sad because I really miss my old Casio E-1xx case (http://www.the-gadgeteer.com/casio-bodysuit-review.html). Gotta love a belt holster.

First does this also apply to martial regalia, cops, special forces etc... Does the gun/handcuffs/grenades at their side really project that "geek" look.

Second, I carry my PDA in a belt holster pretty much EVERYWHERE I go. If someone thinks it's geeky, I don't care. If they say it's geeky, I dare them to try to take it from me. After I've busted their wrist and plastered their head to the ground, we'll see who the geek is. :-)

I guess I'm just a martial geek. Brains properly applied will defeat brawn any day. :-)

Yes. If you walk around in public in a special forces outfit, and you aren't a member of the special forces, then yes, that's pretty damn geeky. And no, women don't find that chewbacca-style bandolier or fake grenade sexy. And if you carry a live grenade with you in public, that moves from 'geek' territory into 'freak' territory.

Neat idea, but man, what an unfriendly site!
we've been speed limited again (i really dislike optpus for what they did to their account structure) so i was wondering if it was just our crappy connection. so it wasn't just me. i thought their site sucked in a big way. the navigation was terrible! i gave up after trying in vain to view the styles of bags available & shut the page in disgust.

One of these fine days I'm going to sew a custom "bandolier" type holder for my PPC, cell phone, keys and credit card/ID. After all, that's all I really need.
ooh! ooh! oooh! can i commission you to make one for me too? or maybe just send me the pattern & i'll sew one of my own

Hmmm, and I thought martial artists weren't supposed to try and provoke fights....

What about velcro loops sewn on top of the mid thigh and velcro hooks on back of the case?

Or one of those old time gun holster looking things suspended a few inches down on side of leg and tied?

I'm thinking of a leather bandolier on a studly guy with a greased chest and no shirt, who's wearing black leather pants.

Oh, wait... Were we talking about PDA cases? I was just thinking out loud...

I wasn't asking for volunteers - I think my husband would get upset if even Pocket PC geeks were sending me beefcake pictures of themselves. ;)
