Is anyone keeping a list of the software titles that have been optimized for the Xscale processor?

I recall seeing a title somewhere that advertised the fact, but as usual I did not think I was going to need to retain the info at the time. I 'killed' my good o'l 3835, and now I have a 3955.

got the same case with you man, killed my 3835 (the back light suck) and buy 3955 but don't know what software is optimized for the xscale, if any....

One is PocketTV Enterprise Edition (http://www.mpegtv.com/wince/pockettv/), but you need to pay $50 for that. The "Classic" edition is free, but not optimized.

I just checked out the pocket tv web site. It only mentioned optimization for Toshiba e740. Hmmm..does that mean even if I purchase the enterprise version I may not get the benefit on my iPAQ 3955 since the site states the optimization is specifically for Toshiba e740?

PocketTV Enterprise is optimized for Xscale processors (http://www.mpegtv.com/wince/pockettv/faq.html) look on the left hand side of the page quoted.

As for other apps, I don't know of anyone I just wanted to remind everyone that "optimized for Arm5" also means that it is optimized for xscale processors (but not completely, xscale is a superset of arm5)

Before you plunck down $50 give the regular version a shot. It works just fine on my 3900.

For most applications, the lack of a speed increase when moving from SA to Xscale CPU has been due to the memory bus speed restriction. i.e. the CPU is not the bottleneck.

Because of this, I doubt if you'll find that many applications benefit from such optimisation.

Thus far it doesn't seem as though speed is a benefit of XScale, but that perhaps power is.
