I downloaded and installed <a href="http://www.happyjackroad.com/AtomicDB/pocketpc/pocketRSS/pocketRSS.asp">Pocket RSS</a> so I could get the RSS feed for Pocket PC Thoughts, available at <a href="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/xml">http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/xml</a>. Nice, but what else is out there? I have tried in vain to find something useful at <a href="www.syndic8.com">www.syndic8.com</a>, but that directory reminds me of the old Gopher interface. I just wanted to get a good news feed, but every feed I tried was just headlines and you had to go online to get the story which was usually on a non-PIE optimized page. :x <br /><br />I am sure I am not the only one that has run into this problem. Any RSS warriors out there? Got some good links to share or a good directory to browse?

Suggest you try Pocket Feed: http://www.furrygoat.com/Software/PocketFeed/index.html .. it will let you read the contents of the RSS item inside the reader.
&lt;/Plug>

I've found that the best source for feeds, funny enough, is other people's blogs. I have a list of what I subscribe to up at (the RSS feed is the little XML icon): http://www.furrygoat.com/Misc/BlogRoll.aspx

Some good Pocket PC blogs:
http://www.ntwizards.net/blog/syndicate/rss2.xml
http://www.voidstar.com/rssify.php?url=http://www.pocketpchow2.com/log/

You might want to also try: www.newsisfree.com

The ones I use are:

www.bbc.co.uk /syndication/feeds/news/ukfs_news/technology/rss091.xm

scifistorm.org /scifistorm.rdf

BTW I've tried accessign the Pocket PC Thoughts feed using Trillian Pro. No data comes down, this is setting:

Server: http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com
Feed: xml.xml

Any ideas where I'm going wrong?

I don't know if you feel like taking the hour or so it would consume to "roll your own", but it would be pretty trivial to create an XSLT (XML Stylesheet for Transformation), and then write create your own PIE page that consists of a few lines of javascript to grab the document, and transform it using your stylesheet.

I've done this on the desktop IE frequently enough, and I believe that PIE offers support for handling xml docs in script.

And, if that doesn't suit you, you could almost as quickly whip out a quick app using eMbedded Visual Basic (evb) that pulls that xml doc off the network (or out of your local file system, if you are getting it during sync), and then applies the transform using eVB's built-in XML handling, and render it using the html-viewer control.

Hmm.... I can't believe there isn't a good one out there somewhere already, but I sometimes prefer my own stuff!!

I don't have Trillian Pro, but I think Ed said that the PocketPCThoughts RSS feed was at http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/xml. You might try adding the /xml to the end of your "Server:" definition.
