So, having a 400mhz chip in my Pocket LOOX, but business partner wanted to see if he needed to upgrade his Ipaq 3870 to the 400mhz version. Here are the results of ONE test:

Both devices have internal Bluetooth capabilities, so we decided to do the follow:

We both connected to our LAN -- so we could connect to the Internet. We both opened ICQ for Pocket PC... starting chatting, no problems, performace was (obvously, not much to test) was similar. THEN, we opened up our Windows Media Player and began streaming the local radio station to our Pocket PCs... ICQ was still open, and we were connected via Bluetooth. The result:

His Ipaq seemed to work fine, while my LOOX was freezing up... we both had 64mb internal memory, and I actually had 30mbs free, and he only had 9mb free. Maybe it could be something else, but I'm guessing the 400mhz isn't a performer for multi-tasking, that's for sure.

The LOOX by itself is a pretty nice device, however... a bit cheap feeling compared to the Ipaq, but a good UI layout.

Have you tried the EUU3 update?

I have heard rumors that PocketIE and Media Player performance, and functionality, are dramatically improved.

Here's Microsoft's press release of EUU3 (End User Update 3):

http://www.microsoft.com/mobile/newsevents/news/sp_10_11_02.asp

And here's where it can be downloaded from Fujitsu-Siemens:

However, you should be aware of issues - check out these sites before downloading and installing:

Thanks for the info. Actually I already did upgrade last week, that is after the upgrade was put back on as far as I understand.

No problems so far except that I am still unable to sync my inbox. Just like before....

-> A Pocket PC on which I cannot sync my emails and on which I may not be able to add a GPRS module....Why did I buy it? :?
