I really hope this is the last time I have to post on this. Straight from the email message of a Viewsonic PR person:<br /><br />"The device is SDIO capable, we will be offering SDIO accessories soon after the beginning of the year."<br /><br />Excellent! Now if only Amazon.com would start taking orders again...

I wonder why Amazon is the only place offering this PDA?

My guess is that Amazon must've worked out some kind of marketing deal with Viewsonic. They probably pulled it off their site when their customers -- who started placing orders, what?, a month ago -- began complaining that their orders hadn't been shipped yet. Even though the delay was on Viewsonic's end, it wasn't making Amazon look good -- especially after the initially listed it at the wrong ($50 lower) price.

I knew this would all work out in the end.
Now all of those naysayers in the thread yesterday can shut the heck up  I find it funny that these people were jumping quick to dismiss the V35 b/c of a rumour when they obviously had NO CLUE what they were talking about.

I wonder if any Amazon customers have received their V35s yet? Before I canceled my order, it gave Nov. 10 as ship date, with Nov. 14 as estimated arrival date. If those dates were accurate, certainly someone has received their Viewsonic today.

Nope, my order is still showing up "In process" with a ship date of Nov 10th. I ordered on Oct. 20th.

I placed an order with Amazon on 10/15 for this unit at $249.00, and I expect them to honor it, although order status has not been updated (it indicates that I should have received the unit by 10/28). We will see.
This will be my first PPC (or PDA for that matter), so I can hold out longer, if need be! :D

There's a federal statute that states if you do not receive your order by the time stated you have the right to call them up and force them to send the product right then and there. If they are unable to then you can get fully refunded, including any damages you can claim from not getting it when they said you would.
... Just a thought :D

The last 2 comments are all well, but sadly, whoever has the most lawyers win. Price mistakes on websites especially, as there's always something in the EULA that weasels them out. I can't think of anything right now, but there was a situation with Best Buy and (maybe the same place) with very cheap GF4s. In the BB situation, one guy was arrested in the store.

Amazon is a fairly reputable company, I wouldn't worry about it.
A company has 30 days to ship your order or give you your money back, unless you give them your permission.
ViewSonic is entering a crowded market with a low-profit margin product. Hooking up with Amazon to pre-sell their first production run was a smart move. Amazon probably isn't taking anymore orders because they don't have a commitment from ViewSonic on when they will have more product.
Of course this is all supposition, but based on economic, not conspiracy, theory.

I think Amazon most likely dealt with Viewsonic directly and had something in place with them. Viewsonic probably couldn't meet their target distribution dates for whatever reason. I wonder if anyone perusing this site would have access to a Viewsonic product distributor such as ASI and check their site to see if they have any in inventory yet.

My mother doesn't even have a PDA, let alone a Pocket PC one. So I think this is getting off topic...

Well - it's good to say 'Thank you' every now and again. Also - we were debating and arguing - and Jason got the correct info fast. That's good - and it's always good to tell people you appreciate them. :D Giving a compliment is not sucking up - it's a necessary part of life. People don't encourage each other enough in life. :? Lets try and do it more - OK? :P
