http://www.vajacases.com/vaja/catalogo.nsf/(ViewPPEN)?OpenView&Cat=o2

Vaja continues to release cases for the XDA series of devices, and this new one looks quite interesting - they've added "button covers" that still allow you to select them. And unless I'm mistaken, there's no front flap - if you're concerned about protecting your screen, this isn't the case for you. This interests me quite a bit though because right now I carry my XDA naked - I don't like the flap flopping around while I'm using it as a phone. This looks like it might be a good solution! No ordering buttons yet.

• Innovative Push Through Buttons
• Easy access to the hands free socket
• Allows IR beam
• Front Padded
• Dimension: 5-3/8" x 3-1/8" x 1" inch.

Jason, which XDA device do you have?
What Canadian service are you using?
Can you connect a laptop to the device to give it wireless access?

Thanks
Gord

with the new low-price Pocket PC's coming out, would anyone spend over $100 on a case for a PDA that only cost $250? I'm sure these cases are beautiful....but it sure is a chuck of cash to lay out...These are the prices I'd expect to pay for a Coach PDA case...or a Mont Blanc PDA case...

What!?!!? No screen cover?!?!? This thing will never sell!
[faux indignant=off]

Just kidding! It looks good and I assume that the lack of a screen cover is the "Innovative push through button" thingy so you can dial your phone.

I agree acessories are bloody expensive. The $100 case made mad "sense" when you were protecting a $700 investment?? but you are not. Would anyone pay $100 for a cell phone cover I think not, and there are $500 cell phones, so why are these so expensive - marketing baby marketing - it is all wrong.

Where are you getting this for $250??? I am a T-Mobile subscriber and it cost me $500.

You can get some great deals online. Amazon used to sell it for $249, right now they're selling it for $299. But this is only with activation, which makes it useless for me :(

I agree with vettaguy, I have yet to see any O2, t-mobile, or AT&T Siemens for under $400.

Also, the push thru buttons design is only for the 2 top buttons, calendar and contacts. The screen is not covered at all. If you use your xda in the naked state then this is great. If you desire any type screen protection this is not the case for you, stick with the evol1 case they sell. It's as pricey but a lot better then the cheapy cases these devices came with.

Hey Jason,
Do the flaps on the models with screen protection not fold back completely?

If you guys like screen coverage at the same size and even more exclusive materials, why don't you take a look at  our (http://www.avoglio.com) cases

Regarding pricing, some do not understand why people prefer a better quality than a 20$ chewing gum case made by some poor asian children (not!) .. agreed that most people buying those cheap PDA are ususally not the ones buying a higher priced accessory, but even some of those do want a neat accessory/protection. Same question would apply why someone wants some expensive coat/shue/bag if he cannot afford all of them ... and sure people buy.

Additionally the low budget market is planned to be only 50% of the market in the future. The other 50 percent still spend more on better PDAs. And thats also a huge targetmarket

Have you ever seen a CEO with a 20$ case ? Does not look very successful

No they do not fold all the way back (at least the Evo cases, the other cases do). This was the only disappointment when I got my vaja case for my Siemens SX56. I usually don't have the phone to my ear, I use the handsfree or speakerphone so this was not that big a deal to me. If I do need to use it close to the the ear the lid of the case kind of wraps around the back of my head, so it's not just flapping out there in mid-air.

How can you compare your cases to the vaja cases this forum is discussing? they are no where close to each other in either design or style. Yes, the vajas are expensive but after purchasing one I wouldn't use anything else due to all the great aspects of the case. Your case basically looks like a "slip cover" case which in no way resembles or acts like the vaja cases. To compare your case against the vaja cases would be comparing apples and oranges.... Yes, you case does provide protection as mentioned and looks quite stylish but it is no comparison to a vaja case :?

In response to dbrahms:

Vaja PDA cases put Coach and Mont Blanc to shame. The name, and name a lone is what constitutes $150 for a Coach case. They put no thought into their designs and Vaja's leather quality is as good or better. There is not a PDA case in the world that rivals the quality and innovation of Vaja.
