Won't be there around 11/20/02, but will be in Vegas for the CES at the begining of January.....surely something similar is planned for then (or not)?

The problem isn't so much the FanFest as it is Comdex this year, honestly, with the exception of the Dell PDA (which is great but I wouldn't call it exciting) there really isn't anything I know of that will be released at Comdex and hence I have very little interest.

I remember back in the Graphics card days (back when there was competition and it was actually interesting) it used to be the highlight of my year, very sad...

Just the same, I only live 3 and a half hours away from Vegas so I might take off of work early that day and check it out.

Well, makes me a little less embarrased about considering the drive there :)

As for flying, good luck. I've tried flying in on Comdex week, a mess. You'd be better off driving.

nah shouldn't be too bad... fly out of Burbank.... I have an uncle pick me up at the airport.... not a problem.... I hope!

We originaly had tickets thru National...that whole thing of sort of sucked, what a pain in the butt. Luckily i was able to to re-book our tickets with Alaska and we are arriving early or late depending how you look at it (Sat the 16th at 11:PM something).

There are going to be a PDA vendors there like Rhino, lots of MS Partners, I think Handspring but not in a big way, TabletPC should be big, the Sharp PDA people are all geared up. I have been getting press releases from the Comdex people by the truck load. I have 3 days to finish the site re-design and get everything ready for the daily COMDEX coverage.

If you see me at the fanfest come by and say hi.

Well, I'm 16 and go to a local High School here in Las Vegas. My school, generally the PC Club, is going to comdex. I was wondering what the age limit for this Pocket PC Fan Club is? Well, might as well ask :lol:

Well I'll drive in to town that evening so if there is time after hotel check in I will stop by.

By the way.... anyone notice how cheap the rooms are this year and last? Last Year I stayed in the old part of town (Golden Nugget) for $25 a night. This year I'll stay in the Sahara for $25 a night.....

One thing I saw of interest was "Palm Swap"...bring in your old palm, you may be eligible for a Free PocketPC! That would make the trip worth it in and of itself!

Still, I miss the old days when there were surprises. The fact that they're releasing something that I've already seen 10 pictures of doesn't impress me.
