I'm looking to get a Nex IIe mp3 player. Does anyone have one yet?
1. Where did you order from? I see two online stores, neither of which I'd heard of before searching for Nex IIe dealers. Nex II's (no 'e') are much more widely distributed, but I want to get the "new" model.
2. What color do you have? I like how the black one looks in pictures, but with the black background LCD... I'm concerned with how this will look with the backlight OFF (if it can be turned off). I'm sure I'll like it with the light on, as I'm apparently one of the few that actually liked the reverse-backlight of the Palm IIIs.
Before anyone says "don't get that, get an iPod"... Let me specify that the reason I want an mp3 player is for working out at the gym and other "active" activities (yes, redundancy is repetitive).
So I'm not getting an iPod because I am concerned about the shaking it would get when I'm exercising, and the potential for dropping it.
I like that the Nex II/Nex IIe series doesn't require special software, it just acts like a USB drive to the host computer. And it uses CompactFlash cards. Plus, I'm getting a PocketPC PDA soon (one with CF), and I am planning to swap the CF card back and forth between the NexIIe and the PDA.
This lets me listen to music when I don't want to carry something as fragile as a PDA or drive-based mp3 player. Or I can listen to the same mp3's when I'm using the PDA. This is especially good as I'd prefer to minimize the number of devices I take with me when I travel (or just that I keep on me at all times). Plus, I only have to pay for one big CF card. :)
