Creative Engineering is proud to announce the latest release of CEPlaylist, an application that is designed to help manage and play song files and playlists on a Pocket PC. When CEPlaylist is started, it searches the PocketPC for all Windows Media or MP3 files and builds a library containing Genre, Artist, Album and Title for each song it finds. It also searches and catalogs any existing playlists on the device. It is capable of searching all storage on the Pocket PC device, as well as any network storage available through a network connection. Songs, albums, and artists can be easily selected and sent to Windows Media Player, PocketDivx, withMP3, and most other PocketPC media players.
Version 1.7 adds the ability to use Playlists created on the PC using Windows Media Player, WinAmp, or MusicMatch. When CEPlaylist opens an existing playlist, it checks each path in the file, and if it does not match the actual location of the song file on the PocketPC, it updates the path to the first matching filename in the Song Library. File structures can be completely different on the PC and the PocketPC, and CEPlaylist will make the appropriate adjustments. This means that you can copy your existing PC based playlists to your PocketPC and use them without having to make any changes.
Version 1.7 is also able to handle a wider variety of MP3 and WMA tag encoding than before, and can automatically expand song files 'in place' on a PocketPC without requiring large amounts of free storage space. In addition, CEPlaylist now supports the following views of the music library:

- Artist/Album
- Album/Artist
- Album Title Only
- Artist Only
- Directory/Filename
CEPlaylist can be configured to handle multiple storage media cards as well as attached network drives, building libraries containing thousands of songs. It makes organizing and playing song files on a Pocket PC easy and fun. Included is a set of Help files in HTML format that can be viewed using a browser on a desktop PC or on the Pocket PC device.
