I just purchaded a 3955 last week. I have Active Sync set up to continuously sync . It will sync when I first put it in cradle and that is it. The green icon dims out and it says it is not connected. It won't connect again until I remove it from cradle and reassert it. Is this normal?

Also, my IPAQ turns off by itself after a few hours while it is in the cradle. I have to push the power button to turn it back on. Is this normal?

If you open Activesync on the PPC (Start | Activesync) in the Options menu there is an option to disconnect when synchronisatoin is complete. Perhaps deselecting this option will rectify this issue.

Have you looked in Settings | System | Power? There is an option to turn the unit off if using the device on external power after a defined time period.

I have the option set to leave my iPAQ 3870 on if it's connected to external power, and I occasionally see my iPAQ turn off on the cradle, too. It's almost as if the iPAQ isn't properly seated in the cradle, but the power light is on, so I know it really is on external power.

It's more then likely your cradle is beginning to break. Try a new one.
